But this year Holashtak will start from 27 February and normally Holashtak is of 8 days but this year it is also of 9 days. But it will start from 27 February and continue till 7 March. The days spent in Pawar Holashtak have special significance.
And in these eight days, all auspicious works such as marriage, housewarming, opening of a new shop, etc. should not be done. And Holika Dahan is also celebrated a lot on the full moon day of Phalgun month. But Holashtak also ends with Holik.

holashtak-2023-and-holi And according to Hindu mythology, King Hiranyakashyap tortured his son Prahlad in many ways for eight days from Ashtami to full moon of Shukla Paksha of Phalgun month.
But as a result of Prahlad’s unwavering devotion to Lord Vishnu, he even tried to kill his own son. The task of killing Prahlad was also given to Hiranyakashyap’s sister Holika on the eighth day, which is known as Phalguna Purnima.

Avoid doing these things during Holashtak
1) Marriage is completely prohibited even during Holashtak.
2) Never bid farewell to your daughter or daughter-in-law during Holashtak. And this work should be done only after Holashtak.
3) Engagement or marriage parties should not be planned and marriage proposals should not even be considered before eight days of Holi.
